SE 3 EP3 – A Trip To Lyon!

Join us as we take you on a trip to Lyon to discover the city and its famous gastronomy. We jumped in the car with BoyBoy and set off to find a place for lunch – a traditional lyonnaise restaurant in the old town.  It was such a beautiful day with great food and great conversation as we were joined by our new friend Steicy!  We wanted to know what it is like to live in Lyon so we let the conversation flow and talked about all sorts, from things you can do in and around the city, and making friends in Lyon to being Black in France and what racism looks like.  We also compared Black British culture and Black French culture from our different perspectives as well as showing some love to one of our fave British exports, Daniel Kaluuya! We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did!  Remember you can write to us at: expatimmigrant@gmail.com Follow us! SE 2 EP 27 – How To Buy Wine In France

Have you ever wondered how to buy wine in France? Well wonder no more! We are so excited to bring you this BUMPER of an episode filled to the brim with useful information and tips! We are joined by an extra special guest, the Sommelier and Caviste, Grégoire Brocas of La Cave Guyot who guides us through some wine tasting!  This is definitely an episode for beginners as we ask Greg to really break it down for us.  He shares his passion for wine with us and teaches us about developing our palate, appellation, grapes and wine vintage.  We also get into the etiquette of sending wine back, how to properly open a bottle of wine and of course, Greg gives us advice on how to buy wine in France! But that’s not all! We put some common scenarios to Greg asking him to recommend what type of wine to buy for each! Meeting a partner’s parents for the first time? A colleague retiring from work? Greg has you covered! Feel free to crack open your preferred bottle of vin and join us as we get into some wine tasting!

Whether you spit or swallow – remember to drink responsibly!!

This episode focuses more on white wine. The first wine we tasted was an organic (bio) wine called Sous La Tonnelle Anjou – Domain de la Bergerie. The second wine was a 2021 Gouffier Les Malpertuis – Bourgogne Remember you can write to us at expatimmigrant@gmail.com
